Privacy policy
Affect Forge is provided by Michael Graham. This policy describes the phone apps and their optional connected services. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact the address below. Do not send patient notes or recordings by email.
Using the phone app
The phone app does not require an account or a purchase. Audio settings, presets, imported sounds, session history, notes and ratings are stored on the phone. Session notes and ratings are not included in the device-control relay. Exported files leave the app when you choose to share them; you control their destination.
Optional device connections
Bluetooth access connects the accessories you select. The app can read heart-rate and skin-conductance measurements from supported sensors. Remembered headphone details are stored on the phone. On iPhone, optional Apple Health and Apple Watch readings stay on the paired devices and are excluded from server relay and exports.
Connected sessions
Connected features send an installation identifier, device credentials, connection status and audio or visual settings to Affect Forge servers. After you allow a clinician connection, the paired clinician can control session settings and view relayed sensor measurements. Live sensor buffers retain approximately five minutes. Saved sensor recordings remain on the server until deleted. Disconnecting or revoking access clears live access but does not delete saved recordings.
Microphone, camera and recordings
Microphone and speech permissions support optional on-device voice Stop and connection checks. The app does not upload those checks or their transcripts. Calls use the microphone and, for video calls, the camera after you answer. Call recording requires explicit consent. When recording is enabled, audio segments and recording metadata are uploaded to the connected recording service; a local retry buffer can retain unfinished uploads. Connected transcription or translation services can process recorded speech when those features are enabled.
Service providers and security
Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Hosting and storage providers process data needed to run connected features. Enabled speech transcription and translation features can send speech content to the configured providers, including DeepL. Device permissions can be changed in your phone settings. Permission changes do not erase data already saved or shared.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app. Exported copies are outside the app and must be deleted separately. Use the connected recording controls to delete saved sensor recordings. Removing the app does not delete server records. Installation registration records, saved recordings, operational logs and backups can remain after a disconnection. Contact the privacy address for server-data deletion requests and information about the retention applicable to your connected service. Clinician-held records may have separate retention obligations.
Advertising and children
The app contains no advertising. The external test is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Affect Forge does not claim therapeutic efficacy.
Policy updates
This policy will be updated when the app or its connected data handling changes. Review the current policy before enabling connected features.
